Dental Implants

At Minty Dental Health Center, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality dental care using the latest advancements in dental technology. One of our key services is dental implantology, a reliable solution for replacing missing teeth and restoring your smile.

What is Dental Implantology?

Dental implantology is a specialized field of dentistry focused on the placement of dental implants. These implants are small, biocompatible titanium posts that serve as artificial tooth roots. Once placed in the jawbone, they provide a stable foundation for prosthetic teeth, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures.

The Dental Implant Procedure

The dental implant procedure involves several steps to ensure the best possible outcome:

  1. Initial Consultation: During your initial visit, our team will conduct a thorough examination and discuss your dental history and goals. We will take X-rays and possibly CT scans to assess the condition of your jawbone and plan the implant placement.
  2. Implant Placement: The dental implant is surgically placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia. Over the next few months, the implant will undergo a process called osseointegration, where it fuses with the bone, creating a strong and stable foundation.
  3. Abutment Placement: After osseointegration is complete, an abutment is attached to the implant. This small connector will hold the prosthetic tooth in place.
  4. Prosthetic Tooth Placement: Finally, a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture is attached to the abutment, completing your new smile.

Additional Grafting Procedures

In some cases, additional grafting procedures may be necessary to ensure the success of your dental implants:

  • Bone Augmentation: If the jawbone lacks sufficient density or volume, bone grafting can be performed to build up the bone structure. This may involve using bone from another part of your body or a synthetic material.
  • Sinus Lifts: Sinus lifts are performed when there is insufficient bone height in the upper jaw, particularly in the area of the molars and premolars. There are two types of sinus lifts:
    • Internal/Vertical Sinus Lift: This less invasive method involves lifting the sinus membrane from within the area where the implant will be placed. It is typically used when only a small amount of bone needs to be added.
    • External Sinus Lift: This procedure involves creating an opening in the lateral wall of the sinus to lift the membrane and place the bone graft. It is used when a larger amount of bone augmentation is required.

Modern Technologies in Implantology

At Minty Dental Health Center, we stay at the forefront of dental technology to provide our patients with the best care possible. One such innovation is the use of Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) in oral surgery.

  • Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF): PRF is a byproduct of your own blood that is rich in growth factors and proteins. It is used to enhance healing and tissue regeneration during implant and grafting procedures. By utilizing PRF, we can reduce healing times, minimize complications, and improve overall outcomes.
